About these amounts
The residence permit fee depends on your nationality and on the length of the permit you apply for; e-İkamet calculates the exact amount (Presidency of Migration Management, card and permit fees). No nationality is exempt from the card fee.
Fees set in Turkish lira are reset every January. We update this page every year and whenever the rules change, and we announce changes on our Legal Updates page.
Time abroad for citizenship by residence
Under the Turkish Citizenship Law (TVK art. 15/1), you may spend up to 12 months in total outside Türkiye during the 5-year residence period. The implementing regulation and the NVİ's VAT-3 application guide still state a limit of 6 months. Before you apply, confirm your day count with the provincial civil registration and citizenship directorate (il nüfus ve vatandaşlık müdürlüğü).
